Chinese Will Make the Smartwatch Competitor

Chinese ZTE plans to fight Samsung Smartwatch, with cheaper alternatives-see what the Chinese plan is.

It was almost a foregone conclusion that Chinese firms would make a cheap alternative to Samsungs smartwatch, Galaxy Gear. Now, one of the major Chinese manufacturers signed up on the pitch, with concrete plans for a Galaxy Gear-alternative.

ZTE, which also produces smartphones, plans to send a smartwatch into the market in the second quarter of 2014, according to Lu Qianhao, who is Chief of ZTE, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

The Chinese alternative will have many of the same features as the Samsung offers Galaxy in their Gear, but the price will undoubtedly be significantly lower.

ZTE ´ s smartwatch will be presented in the first quarter of 2014, and from the second quarter to be sold to China. Subsequently, however, it is foreseen that it also must in addition to the American and European consumers.
